Islam and the end time

Islam and the end time

Introduction

From Jesus Christ to Prophet Muhammad, from Buddhism to Taoism, many religions of the world had prophesied about the end time.  From the Jews of Jerusalem to the Hopi Indian of America, end time prophecies seemed to be the topic of discussion everywhere.  With the Muslims convinced that Muhammad is the last prophet sent by God, that is the reason why I start my discussion of end time with Islam.

The Muslims believe that Jesus Christ (Isa) will return and get the end time started.  The Muslims believe that Jesus Christ will descend from heaven and down to earth, before the end time.  Jesus Christ will descend to earth at a time when a group of Muslims are preparing a war against the false prophet (Dajjal).  Jesus Christ will eliminate the Dajjal himself, while the Muslims will come down from the mountains and break loose the army of Dajjal.

After Jesus Christ had eliminated the Dajjal, there will be true peace.  War will no more be necessary and Jihad (holy war) will no more be relevant.

Islamic Law

Islamic law are strict laws.  The laws by the Islamic fundamentalists allows the stoning of adulterer to death, and it also allows the cutting off hand of the thief.  The Western society called such laws as inhumane.

We have to remember that such laws exist since the time of Moses.  God had established a new covenant for God's people to follow, and the Jews used to stone the adulterer to death.  Why the Western society did not object to such laws during Moses time? The new covenant was established on Mount Sinai and was named the Ten Commandment.

Jesus Christ teachings

In Matthew 5:28-30, "anyone who looks at a woman and wants to posses her in his heart is guilty of adultery.  So, if your eyes causes you to sin, take it out and throw it away.  It is much better for you to loose a part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into hell.  If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away.  It is much better for you to loose one of your limb than for your whole body to go to hell."

It seemed that Jesus Christ was teaching the people to adhere to the covenant of God.  However, in both John 4:16 and John 8, Jesus Christ was sympathetic towards the women adulterer and did not instruct the people to stone them to death.  These are the incidents that requires further discussions and clarifications.

End time struggle

God created Adam with a specific intention in mind, and all the Adam's children are supposed to help Adam to complete his mission on earth.  It is my believe that Adam's mission will be revealed before the end time, by then all should work together for the glory of God.

God sent prophet after prophet to prepare all of us for the end time struggle.  From the time of Moses to Muhammad, there seemed to be a prophet born every 500 years.  It is therefore clear to me that God had His focus on end time, a struggle that all of us should understand.
